Updated information for incoming students  and Erasmus partners (31.03.2020). There are no lectures or courses until 10.05.2020. The summer semester starts on 11.05.2020. Please be aware of so-called risk countries you might travel through. You are supposed to go into a 2-week quarantine after having passed such an area. In case you want to cancel your trip, write an email to  europa@zv.uni-freiburg.de.

Please note that at this moment we cannot guarantee, that the courses start on 11.05.2020. It is conceivable that courses are further delayed or are delivered on-line. We are trying to keep this information up to date (last change 27.03.2020).

Further up-to-date information and answers to FAQs you'll find in the attachments at the bottom of this page.

Incoming Students for Summer 2020, Winter 2020/2021

The courses for summer are now available (download folder). Have a look in our online system (campus.uni-freiburg.de) or here  http://vvz.tf.uni-freiburg.de  and make a guess for your learning agreement. Please send us your learning agreement before you come to Freiburg such that we give you some feedback. We will make the course list of the next semester available asap.

All master courses are taught in English! Also some Bachelor courses. However, for Bachelor courses the main language is German. Yet, we allow Bachelor students to visit master courses as well.

In Freiburg the Faculty of Engineering offers for Erasmus students Bachelor and Master studies in Computer Science, Embedded Systems Engineering, Microsystems Engineering and Sustainable Systems Engineering. We allow Erasmus incoming students to choose from any of the study plans with the exception of courses from Sustainable Systems Engineering.

Please note, that we have no Civil Engineering nor Mechanical Engineering nor Business Administration. It is also not possible to take courses from our online study programs Solar Energy or IEMS or the study program REEM. If you want to study such courses, please apply to a different university.

Incoming Students for  Winter 2019/2020.

  1. If you have question contact Kerstin Pfeiffer or Christian Schindelhauer
  2. If you have found your courses, adjust your learning agreement (3rd/4th lecture week)

Finding courses is hard in our online system (campus.uni-freiburg.de). Here is nice web-page which might work better: http://vvz.tf.uni-freiburg.de Now the course catalog is online (10.07.2019) there  campus.uni-freiburg.de and only there. You can get the PDF schedule for each study plan hereAccording to German traditions a lecture „Vorlesung“ is always accompanied with an exercise „Übung“. You only get the ECTS of the full course if you take both.

Bachelor Computer Science/Microsystems Engineering/Embedded Systems Engineering

Note that the majority of courses is in German. However, you can also add some (english) master courses to you learning agreement. Also seminars, projects, lab courses, bachelor thesis might be interesting, when the German language is a problem.

Master Computer Science

Nearly all courses are open for you. However, it is the lecturer's decision to accept you as a student  For seminars, please be early and contact the professor that you want to participate. It should be possible to subscribe as computer science student in the electronic system.

Master Microsystems Engineering

All master courses are taught in English and are open to Erasmus students. Lab courses need some qualification. Please contact the organizer in advance! It is possible that you are wrongly inscribed as computer science student, please let us know if this has been the case.

Information about the Microsystems Engineering you’ll find here: http://www.tf.uni-freiburg.de/en/study-programs/microsystem-engineering?set_language=en If you have questions to the study program of Microsystems Engineering you can contact Mr. Goldschmidtböing, Mr. Prucker  or Mr. Greiner (studienberatung@imtek.uni-freiburg.de).

Master Embedded Systems Engineering

These courses also appear in the Master studies Computer Science and Microsystems Engineering.

Master Sustainable Systems Engineering

Since there are many students in this study program, only a very limited number of Erasmus students can be accepted from other studies. See this information.

Starting from Winter 2019/2029  you will register online in the foreign students program (like nearly all Erasmus students) and will collect your electronic transcript from the examination office of the Faculty of Engineering and the written version (if needed) from the central Erasmus office of the University.

Therefore it is important, that you register online for all courses electronically (once you are here).
